Maintain your dental health with regular dental check ups

When it comes to your dental health, prevention is better than cure, not only for your overall health but also your back pocket – and the good news is many dental issues can be prevented or caught early with a regular dental check up.

How regularly should I go for a dental check up?

A visit to the dentist every six months can help you maintain good oral hygiene, prevent major dental issues and minimise the damage minor dental issues like cavities can have on your teeth and gums.

What does a dental check up involve?

As we understand the impact oral hygiene has on your overall health, at every dental check up we provide a detailed oral examination checking for any dental issues or signs of oral cancer. If it is your first time visiting, or it has been a while, we will also take some x-rays to make sure there are no bigger issues happening below your teeth and gums.

If we do identify dental issues that need to be fixed, we will walk you through your options for treatment. If it’s a minor issue, we can sometimes fix it then and there, but keep in mind that we may also recommend coming back for a longer appointment. We then end the dental check up with professional teeth cleaning and a fluoride treatment and share advice and tips on how to maintain an effective dental hygiene routine at home too.
